Rob Modero

Bio

Coach Mo was born in Hazelwood, and is a
graduate of St. Stephen’s and Bishop Boyle.
He also attended CCAC and competed in club
football. Coach Mo spent much of his football career
in the semi-pro leagues, including 6 years with the
Greater Pittsburgh Football League, 5 years with the
Hazelwood Volunteers, one year with the Beechview
Bulls, and 5 years with the Pittsburgh Colts. He
coached at Bishop Boyle for one season, 3 years at
West Mifflin, and 16 seasons at Baldwin. Coach Mo’s
uncle, John Zanderelli ’31, was a member of the 1st
graduating class at Central. He is looking forward to
“carrying on the proud tradition." Coach Mo, his wife,
Rose, and daughter, Alexis, reside in Penn Hills. He is
proud of being a part of the 2007 and 2015 WPIAL/
PIAA State Championship Teams. He was also a part
of the 2013, 2016 & 2024 WPIAL Champions and PIAA State
Finalist teams. Most recently, he was a part of the
2019 & 2020 WPIAL 6A Champion teams.
